For this new blog series we are bringing you a few of our favorite iconic Pittsburgh venues, two ways! The Pennsylvanian two ways will showcase this iconic downtown Pittsburgh venue with two different wedding styles.
First, we want to introduce you to Victoria and Will’s wedding at The Pennsylvanian. This winter wedding was quintessential classic elegance. The formal black and white color palette with hints of greenery accented the lavish reception space perfectly. We used some special, luxurious blooms in Victoria’s bouquet like ranunculus, peonies, and garden roses. They perfectly accented her sleek, formal gown and looked so soft and romantic.
The white hydrangea add a beautiful fullness to the centerpieces. Some of our favorite varieties of roses: Vendella, Polar Star, Eskimo, and White Majolika spray roses add a romantic touch. The white stock, pittosporum, ruscus, and lemon leaf add some beautiful texture and greenery tones. The addition of candles in different heights and holders add to the romance with the soft, warm glow. Lots of candles are a must for winter weddings!
Next, we would like to introduce you to Kelsey and Dustin’s wedding. This one is a great example of how to incorporate a bit of color into your wedding at The Pennsylvanian! Kelsey and Dustin’s wedding is still elegant and formal, and just shows a different way to style this iconic venue.
There are many ways to bring color into your wedding day palette. Bridal party attire, stationery, and linens can (and should!) fit within your overall color palette for a cohesive wedding day. The flowers are just one part of that and can be designed to blend with the other colors or as a fun pop against a more neutral background.
We had a lot of fun using baby blue eucalyptus, viburnum berries, snowberry, cafe latte roses, waxflower, snap dragons, lisianthus, and a few different types of greenery. This variation of stems created a lot of fun textures in the arrangements. The array of colors and tones popped against the neutral table linens and gold accents, but still work beautifully in the lavish space.
