Meet the team: Lauren

Office and Inventory Manager

Lauren Lester is our Office Manager and Inventory Manager. She joined the team in 2020 and holds a B.A. in Business Marketing and a minor in Professional Writing from Chatham University. She has prior experience in the wedding industry in a similar role as well as experience in fashion retailing, management, and social media. 

Lauren is the one behind most of our client communications and is the first person our clients come in contact with then they reach out to schedule a consultation, inquire about availability, or have a question about an order. She enjoys when things are organized and have a purpose. Colored post-it notes and spreadsheets make her happy! Lauren is the behind the scenes maven at The Blue Daisy Floral Designs and keeps the machine running!

We asked Lauren a few questions to help get to know her better. Here’s what she has to share!

What brought you to The Blue Daisy?

I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up (in my late twenties mind you) and I happened to see a post on Instagram that Stephanie was looking for a new office manager. After expressing interest in the position and two phone interviews I knew The Blue Daisy was where I was meant to be. I was thrilled when she offered me the position!

What is your favorite thing about being on The Blue Daisy team?

I absolutely love working in a creative environment with artists of varied backgrounds and skills. It feels like I fit well as part of the team. I greatly appreciate the ways we are able to work, share ideas, and solve problems together.

What is your favorite flower and why?

I cannot pick one favorite anything so in no particular order here are my top five favorite flowers: dahlias, peonies, orchids, ranunculus, and hellebore. I love that they are each unique in different ways, come in various colors, have different seasons, grow differently, but are all so graceful and beautiful.

What do you most enjoy doing outside of the studio?

Some of my favorite ways to spend my free time are non-conventional creative endeavors. I enjoy makeup artistry, costuming, crochet, jewelry making, improv, and reading and telling stories.

If you could have any pet in the world, what would it be?

Other than a small pack of dogs, I think it would be interesting to have an octopus as a pet. They are intelligent, curious, and at times, sassy! I find them fascinating and think it would be fun to have one as a pet.
