Creative Wedding Color Palettes

Let me just start off by saying WE LOVE COLOR! The floral world is full of beautiful colors and bringing them together can create absolute magic. In this series, we wanted to show off some fun and creative ways to incorporate color into your wedding day. As much as we love a classic white with greenery vibe, we always get so excited when our clients want something different. Featured here are three different weddings with three very different creative color palettes. All of them are absolutely gorgeous for different reasons. So without further ado, let’s explore some color!

Ashley & Leo

First, we have Ashley and Leo’s early summer wedding. They wanted a creative, bright, and romantic feel with dusty blue and mandarin orange being their main colors. I absolutely love blues and oranges together! We used light blue delphinium and thistle to add blue to the flowers. Blue is actually pretty rare in the world of flora. There are not many naturally occurring blue flowers, so the options for shades of blue can be very limited for us. Delphinium and thistle are two of our go-to choices for this shade of blue! For the oranges, we used orange ranunculus and tiny kumquats for a pop of that brighter mandarin. Then, the Juliette garden roses, peach Campanella roses, and Sweet Sarah spray roses added in some softer peach and blush tones to bring everything together. The peach and orange really pop against the dusty blue bridesmaids’ dresses.

Leo wore a blue suit and the groomsmen wore a cool toned gray. This helped Leo stand out a bit as the groom (it’s his special day too!) while still looking stylish and cohesive with the rest of the bridal party. In order to pull a bit of that cool gray into the flowers, we added dusty miller. And, all the men wore floral print ties that went perfectly with their boutonnieres and the ladies’ bouquets!

Nora & Ken

Next, we are excited to share Nora and Ken’s late spring wedding. They wanted their wedding to feel like a mix of eclectic, classic, and understated. To accomplish this with the flowers, we used some rich jewel tones for a darker, bolder look. A few lighter tones thrown in as well helped bring in the spring season. This wedding is a perfect example of how to use bold color even in the warmer months. They don’t just have to be for fall weddings! Hot Majolica Spray Roses, burgundy Snap Dragons, purple Tulips, and burgundy Stock are our bold, eye catching stems. The Cherry Brandy and Free Spirit Roses add some really fun color as these two varieties are two toned. Their mix of peach and pink is so exciting and beautiful and worked really well with this color palette.

Leah & Steven

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, we have Leah and Steven’s summer wedding! They wanted a classic and elegant garden style, which is right up our alley. The color palette was pastel shades of lavender, peach, blush, and blue. These colors absolutely pop against the elegant attire of the bridal party. Leah’s dress is fairly simple, but oh so elegant. Steven and his groomsmen look truly dapper in their classic black tuxedos. The bridesmaids wore a deep navy shade and I’m in love with the way these flowers look against their dresses. Their wedding is the perfect example of how to combine classic and elegant with the lovely softness of garden style design.

The Romantic Antike Garden Roses, Peach Shimmer Roses, Peach Ranunculus, and Sweet Sarah Spray roses added some lovely warm pink and peach tones. The Lisianthus, Purple Haze roses, Stock, and Ccabiosa bring in the lavender shades. To round out the mix, we included Cornflower and two different shades of blue Delphinium for those lovely cool tones.
